In the beginning…
…there was Verducci Hall at S.F. State, jamming and goofing off in the rehearsal spaces in the bowels of the dorms. Then Jeff and I started just jamming, spending many long hours experimenting with song ideas while working on vocal harmonies, which inevitably had us playing a lot at the Owl and Monkey’s Open mike Thursdays, before getting our own gigs and officially performing as Twain and Pehrson. Of course, our musical evolution sent some of us along divergent paths, only to somehow meander back together years later with some old AND new friends. I think the Fall Risk represents special relationships, both past and present, coming together to offer up a different sound of the same original music many have come to love while keeping the spirit of the old Twain and Pehrson/Box Set sound alive and well. And we’ll obviously have the chance to start coming up with newly crafted songs in the not too distant future.
The night is young.
2010 Schedule!
Sat. March 6th Lafayette Elementary School Silent Auction to raise funds for the school. The Fall Risk will be the featured live folk rock band, following the jazz group The Brunberries and then ending the evening with dancing. Cost is $25 to get through the door, with lots of food and drink. It’s all to raise money for the school, as it’s well known that the SFUSD is looking to slash funding and layoff hundreds of teachers. If you can make it, you would be doing a great service for helping to support our local public schools. The event starts at 6:30, and we go on @ 8:30. The event is located at the Janet Pomeroy Center, 207 Skyline Blvd. (by the S.F. Zoo) in San Francisco.
